At Camp Aush-Bik-Koong we have always taken the well-being of our campers and staff very seriously. We have been paying very close attention to what is going on with COVID-19 and how it may impact the running of camp this year.

Please read through the answers below to some questions you may have about ABK for this Summer. If you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us here.

We plan to be running full summer camps once again!

If a camper or staff member begins to show symptoms of COVID-19 while at camp they will be immediately isolated.

1. The staff member will be asked to take a rapid test that we have at camp.

2. The camper’s parents/guardian will be contacted and asked permission in regards to rapid testing. Once permission is granted a test will be conducted. If permission is not granted, the camper will be isolated and pick-up arranged.

If the camper/staff tests positive they will remain isolated and a ride will be arranged to pick the individual up.

If the camper/staff tests negative than they will be allowed to rejoin the program at such a time when they feel better.

If a camper/staff develops symptoms of COVID-19, and is a known close-contact of a confirmed COVID case than they will be immediately isolated, and pick-up will be arranged.

Close contacts of a positive test will be monitored for symptoms, but are not required to isolate.

Communication

When a positive rapid test is confirmed at camp, camp manager will email all parents of our guests that week to inform them of the positive case.

We will specifically contact parents of campers who shared a cabin with the impacted individual.

Transportation

Any camper or staff member having tested positive or having shown symptoms without being tested will not be permitted travel on the bus home.
