At Camp Aush-Bik-Koong we have always taken the well-being of our campers and staff very seriously. We have been paying very close attention to what is going on with COVID-19 and how it may impact the running of camp this year.

Please read through the answers below to some questions you may have about ABK for this Summer. If you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us here.

As of May 1st the following programs have been cancelled for 2020.
– School Trip Programs
– Work Weekend (May 15th – 18th)
– Open House (June 6th)
– College and Careers Retreat (June 19th – 21st)
– All Summer programming (July and August)

On May 1st the board of directors, through much prayer, decided that we were unable to safely run Summer programs this year. All camps for July and August have been cancelled for 2020.

We will give you one of two options when it comes to refunds:

1) A full refund (including the $50 deposit)
2)An option to convert your registration fee to a tax-receiptable donation

By cancelling June through August we have lost the largest part of our revenue stream, however we have done our best to mitigate expenses (ie. we no longer need to pay for busing, food, etc.). This still leaves us with an approximate short fall of $20,000. We are trusting God, and asking those who believe in the work ABK is doing to consider donating in this time of need – you can donate through our “Donate” tab on our home page.

Although we will miss seeing our 700+ campers this Summer – not being able to run Summer programs provides us with the rare opportunity of time to make some much-needed property improvements. We are hopeful that we will be able to take advantage of this opportunity. We will take on projects as funds become available through donations. After much prayer and consideration the board of directors met on July 30th and decided there were still too many unknowns, and risks to our staff and campers to run Fall Retreats. We, unfortunately, will not be hosting Fall Retreats this year.
